Week of the Young Child

Week of the Young Child Celebration

Early childhood programs across the United States celebrated The Week of The Young Child April 2nd to April 8th. The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Its purpose is to focus public attention on the needs of the young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.

His Little Ones celebrated the week with themed days and culminated in a family night on Thursday.

Music Monday we sang, danced, and played instruments inside and out.

Snack on Tasty Tuesday was making  pizza followed by writing recipes for pizza and playing Pizza Parlor in dramatic play.

We spent Work Together Wednesday doing things that at least two people had to do together like games, creating with loose parts, and painting with golf balls by rolling them around inside a large box.

Artsy Thursday was celebrated with acting out The Three Billy Goats Gruff and ended in a family night when the children and their families participated in various kinds of art activities around the room including making Sharpie tye dyed shirts.
